Justin Bieber went head-to-head with comedian Kevin Hart at a charity tennis match hosted by Will Ferrell on Tuesday (10Mar15).

The Baby hitmaker was paired with Canadian professional player Eugenie Bouchard as they took on comedian Kevin Hart and TV presenter Billy Bush at the Desert Smash tournament in La Quinta Resort and Club in California.

The stars were tennis novices with Bieber saying, "I don't know how to play this game!" during the match and Hart later revealed it was his first time playing the sport via Twitter.com.

Hart appeared to be warming up for his upcoming Comedy Central roast by making digs at the singer throughout the match.

Ferrell was due to be partnered with Bieber, but he dropped out after suffering an injury in an earlier game and took over the role of umpire, hurling insults at both teams throughout the competition.

Actors Timothy Olyphant and Colton Hayes also played during the day while singer Lance Bass helped commentate.

Bieber finished the night by headlining the afterparty's acoustic concert featuring support act Natasha Bedingfield.

The event raised money Cancer For College, a charity founded by a friend of Ferrell to offer college scholarships to cancer sufferers.
