Justin Bieber and his pop protegee Carly Rae Jepsen are set to do battle at the 2013 JUNO Awards in their native Canada after landing nominations in four top categories.

The Baby hitmaker will face off with Jepsen for the titles of Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year and JUNO Fan Choice, but it's the Call Me Maybe singer who has scored the most nods for the ceremony, earning a fifth nomination for Single of the Year for her infectious tune.

Veteran musician Leonard Cohen will compete in a trio of categories - he's up for Songwriter of the Year as well as Artist of the Year and JUNO Fan Choice, while his son, Adam, has followed his dad's lead and earned a mention for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year for Like a Man - he'll be up against Celine Dion, The Tenors, Raylene Rankin and Barlow in the category.

Critically-acclaimed R&B star The Weeknd and singer Grimes have been handed their first JUNO nominations for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, while the Breakthrough Group of the Year will be a fight between bands Hey Ocean!, Monster Truck and Yukon Blonde.

Other multiple nominees include The Sheepdogs, Billy Talent, Metric, Hedley and Marianas Trench.

Michael Buble, himself a nominee for the JUNO Fan Choice Award, will host the 2013 JUNO Awards from the Brandt Center in Regina, Saskatchewan on 21 April (13).
