JOSH DUHAMEL WAS 'SCARED OF DATING'

Josh Duhamel was so scared of dating in his single days he would thoroughly investigate every woman he went out with to make sure he definitely "wanted to be with them".

The Transformers star, who is now married to singer Fergie, insists he hated dating different girls and made sure he knew everything about them before agreeing to go out.

During a press conference for his new movie, Life As We Know It, he says, "I've had plenty of awkward moments, but I've always been in relationships for a long time. Dating always scared the c**p out of me. For that reason I couldn't really date.

"I had to make very sure that I wanted to date this person. I would do a complete recon (reconnaissance). So, I made sure that I wanted to be with them before I actually started dating... You know, when you really feel it, you just don't want to say, 'Well, I might like her, or I guess I'll date her.'"
