Depp, Downey, Jr. and Franco have all been considered for the part along with The Hurt Locker's Jeremy Renner, but none of the actors have been able to commit to the project, according to executive producer Marty Ingles.
He tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "Franco turned it down and Depp, Jeremy Renner and Downey, Jr. were too busy with other movies. We are going to have to put out an urgent casting call. Junior is a big part of this movie. It is very much his story."
