Johnny Depp injures hand in Australia

Johnny Depp has been forced to leave the Pirates Of The Caribbean set in Australia in order to undergo surgery in America for a hand injury sustained over the weekend (ends08Mar15).

The actor was Down Under filming the latest installment of the blockbuster franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but he is on his way home for medical attention, according to TheWrap.com.

An insider tells the site Depp was not on set or filming at the time of the incident, and production on the movie is expected to be "minimally impacted."

A Disney spokesperson confirmed Depp's injury, but did not give any further details. The release date of the movie (Jul17) is not expected to change.
