Nicole Richie's rocker boyfriend Joel Madden was left shocked on Tuesday (11Aug09) when he was approached by strangers who tried to sell him a baby.

The Good Charlotte star - who is currently expecting his second child with Richie - took to his Twitter.com blog to describe the incident, which left him speechless.Joel Madden claims he was sitting in traffic when a group of people approached his car and offered him a baby in exchange for cash - but they ran off when they saw his shocked reaction.In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, Today some people in traffic tried to sell me a baby. A live human baby. I didn't know what to say. I said a little prayer for the kid. Wow. It all happened so fast. I was trying to figure out if they were serious, and I think when my reaction was not a good one, they just took off (sic). I mean look, chances are they were joking. The scary part is I really couldn't tell. Maybe I'm just one gullable (sic) fool.
