Joe Wright lifted Keira Knightley's pout ban for Chanel advert

Keira Knightley was begged by moviemaker Joe Wright to show off her famous pout on the set of a TV commercial, six years after he banned her from using it in his films.

The director famously forbade the British actress from pursing her lips when they shot 2005 movie Pride + Prejudice as he feared her signature look was becoming too cliched.

The pair teamed up again in 2011 to film an advertisement for fashion brand Chanel, and Knightley was surprised when Wright lifted his pout ban and urged her to make the most of her sexy lips.

Knightley tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "Joe Wright didn't want me for Pride + Prejudice because he thought I was too pretty, and then he met me and said, 'Oh no, you're fine!'... I've got (pouting) out of my system. I didn't know I did it so much and Joe banned it from the film. Then when we did the Chanel adverts he said, 'You know that pout we banned? Can we have it back and as much as possible?'"
