Joe Jonas dismisses comparisons to Justin Timberlake

Joe Jonas is eager to avoid comparisons to Justin Timberlake as he embarks on a solo career following the split of the Jonas Brothers.

After 10 years of making music with his siblings Nick and Kevin Jonas, the brothers decided to end their successful run as a group in October (13).

Joe, 24, is embarking on a solo career and he tells NYLON Guys magazine that he hopes to avoid comparisons to other artists who have left boybands, like Justin Timberlake did with 'N Sync.

Jonas says, "I've heard it before, when I did my solo project. People would be like, 'I hear the Justin influence.' I'd say 'No! Don't say that!' He's somebody that I respect, but I want to have my own identity."

Jonas released a solo album, Fastlife, in 2011, and is scheduled to perform on his own at two holiday concerts in Chicago, Illinois and Buffalo, New York this month (Dec13).
