Jessica Biel was so suspicious of the men who paid thousands of dollars for a charity date with her - she brought her father along to keep her safe.

The Blade Trinity actress, who is dating pop star Justin Timberlake, was stunned when one man agreed to pay $30,000 to have lunch with her - and two other gentlemen matched the bid.

Biel went on her first date in August (09) and was so worried about going out with a stranger, she secretly brought along her burly father in case anything went wrong.

She explains, "It was really quite bizarre because somebody paid $30,000, which is crazy. And then two other people matched it!... Yes (it's a weird situation), for sure... but I chickened out and brought my dad along and made him sit in (another part of) the restaurant just in case something weird happened."
