Jennifer Lopez showed off her comic skills on sketch show Saturday Night Live this weekend (27Feb10), by spoofing Rihanna.

The singer/actress channelled the Umbrella star's fashion style by donning a short blonde wig, sunglasses and big gold hoop earrings to join in a segment about the remake of charity song We Are The World, while funnymen Andy Samberg, Bill Hader and Seth Meyers poked fun at Josh Groban, Eddie Vedder and Willie Nelson, respectively.

Jennifer Lopez also mimicked Rihanna's vocal style, singing, "There comes a time, eh!/ When we heed a certain call, eh!"

She played up her Spanish heritage in an outrageous telenovela (Hispanic melodrama), in which she starred as a nun having an affair with a character played by SNL regular Fred Armisen, prompting the pair to lock lips.

Another skit had the Puerto Rican star appearing as a madwoman after an awkward spoof interview with Hader and Kristen Wiig, where she repeatedly screamed "paciencia y fe" (patience and faith) before dramatically storming off set.

Jennifer Lopez's SNL appearance was the latest TV spot for the star - she recently filmed a guest part in comedy series How I Met Your Mother and she's rumoured to be joining the cast of hit show Glee for an upcoming episode.
