Jennifer Lopez and Alan Cumming were the toast of the 2013 amfAR Inspirational Gala on Thursday (13Jun13) when they were feted for their tireless philanthropy efforts.

Guests including Uma Thurman and Liza Minnelli gathered to salute the pair at The Plaza hotel in New York, where they were treated to a performance by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Vogue magazine contributing editor Andre Leon Talley was on hand to present Lopez with the Humanitarian Award in recognition of her work with the amfAR organization, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and her own Lopez Family Foundation, while Scottish actor Cumming received the Award of Courage from his close pal Minnelli for his continued work to promote public health and AIDS research.

Fashion designer Valentino Garavani was also celebrated at the bash, although he was unable to attend, leaving supermodel Iman to collect the Award of Inspiration on his behalf.

The gala raised funds for The Foundation for AIDS Research, with tickets priced at $1,200 each.
