Jennifer Lawrence: 'I'm single and lonely'

Written by . Published: November 12 2015

Hollywood beauty Jennifer Lawrence fears marriage is a long way off as "mean" men never ask her out on dates.

The Hunger Games star is currently single following the end of a long-term relationship with her X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult and a brief romance, which was never confirmed, with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. She's not particularly looking for love at the moment, although when the time comes, she will jump at the chance to wed Mr. Right.

"I feel like I need to meet a guy, with all due respect, who has been living in Baghdad for five years who has no idea who I am," she told Vogue magazine.

"I can't wait to be married. I feel like if I find that one person who I want to spend the rest of my life with, who I want to be the father of my children, that I would absolutely not (mess) it up. But I'm also not banking on that."

One of the main obstacles when it comes to walking down the aisle is finding a man to date in the first place, despite the fact Jennifer is one of the hottest women in Hollywood

"No one ever asks me out," she moaned. "I am lonely every Saturday night. Guys are so mean to me. I know where it's coming from, I know they're trying to establish dominance, but it hurts my feelings. I'm just a girl who wants you to be nice to me. I am straight as an arrow..."

That's not to say she's had no romantic interludes of late, with the star admitting she was seeing a "sexy" guy recently but it didn't work: "I didn't like how he made me feel. When someone makes you insecure, it's strangely exhilarating because you keep trying to fight for that validation. It's what you want to have before you get married, so that you don't seek it out once you are."

She may be lonely when it comes to love, but Jennifer has a large group of friends who ensure she doesn't have to spend too much time on her own. The star bought a home in Los Angeles in 2014 and it's near many of her pals, including some famous faces she's just getting to know.

"Downtime is normally the bane of my existence, it makes me depressed, not relaxed," she explained. "But I was actually enjoying myself (when I wasn't working recently, all I did was) hang out. Drink wine. I've got a bunch of friends who live really close, thank God. And I've made friends with Mila (Kunis) and Ashton (Kutcher), two doors down. They're awesome. I go over there uninvited. They're probably getting pretty sick of me."
