Jay-Z has extended his record for the most Billboard number one albums by a solo artist to 13 after landing another chart-topper.

Magna Carta Holy Grail has shot to the top of the Billboard 200 with 527,000 sales in its opening week - the second-largest debut of 2013 behind Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience.

Jay-Z is now only six number one albums away from tying the Beatles' record of 19.

The rapper also made history overseas on Sunday (14Jul13) when Magna Carta Holy Grail became his first number one album in the U.K.

Meanwhile, it's also a great week for Ciara, who debuts her self-titled fourth album at two on the new countdown with 58,000 sales, and last week's (ends12Jul13) chart-topper, Born Sinner by J. Cole, slides to three.

On the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, Robin Thicke clings to the top spot with Blurred Lines for a sixth week, while Jay-Z's Holy Grail debuts high at eight.

Daft Punk's Get Lucky scores a fifth week at two and Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop stays put at three.
