Jason Segel penning young adult book series
Jason Segel is adding author to his resume after turning an old film script into a new book series for young adults.
The Muppets star reveals he came up with the story when he was 21 and sold the plotline for "super cheap" as an aspiring actor, but he recently tracked down the material and bought back the rights - and he has since decided to rework it into a collection of novels.
He says, "As I got more successful I kept hoping they (film
developers) wouldn't realise I was the same Jason Segel as the
Jason Segel they bought the script from (before he became
famous)."
Jason Segel is keeping the title of the literary project under
wraps for the time being and he's not yet ready to open up about
the series itself, simply explaining, "It's about kids facing their
biggest fears, that's about all I can tell you."
News of the books, which the actor hopes to release later this year
(13), was revealed during a special question and answer session on
Thursday (04Apr13) after a New York screening of his 2008 film
Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
