James Van Der Beek celebrates Mother's Day with new role

James Van Der Beek is moving on from the cancellation of his comedy Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23 - his latest TV show has been picked up by bosses at CBS.

The series, which also starred Krysten Ritter, was scrapped earlier this year (13) by executives at ABC over falling ratings, but it appears the former Dawson's Creek star's luck has changed.

The actor will star alongside Kevin Connolly and Brooklyn Decker in Friends With Better Lives, which centers on a group of 30-something friends who each think the other has it better.

Van Der Beek took to his Twitter.com page on Mother's Day on Sunday (12May13) to share the news with fans, writing, "Very excited to tell the mother of my kids that her husband officially has a job! #SOpsyched Happy Mother's Day."
