Late star James Gandolfini's teenage son Michael is following in the footsteps of his famous dad by attending a fundraiser for one of the actor's favorite charities.

The Sopranos star was a frequent supporter of the Wounded Warriors scheme, which offers sporting events and rehabilitation to soldiers wounded in action.

On Wednesday (09Jul14), Michael Gandolfini, 14, was on hand at a firehouse in Staten Island, New York, to help raise money for the organisation's Adaptive Sports Program.

Michael chatted with firefighters as well as soldiers who benefit from the charity.

James Gandolfini suffered a heart attack in June last year (13) while he was on vacation with Michael in Italy.
