James Franco has been cast to star in the small screen adaptation of Stephen King's novel 11/22/63, which chronicles the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy.
The Oscar nominee will play high school teacher Jake Epping, who travels back in time to prevent the murder of the political leader in 1963.
Franco will produce the nine-part series for Internet streaming
service Hulu alongside Star Trek filmmaker J.J. Abrams.
The project marks the actor's first regular TV role since his stint
on soap opera General Hospital in 2012.
