Jake Gyllenhaal bonded with his co-stars in new cop movie End Of Watch after they were Tasered as part of their intense training.
The Brokeback Mountain star plays a Los Angeles police officer in the new drama and he had to patrol the city's mean streets to get an understanding of how dangerous the job can be.
The actor got a real shock when producers asked him to choose whether to get struck by a Taser Gun or have pepper spray squirted in his eyes to get into character.
He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I did not tase anybody but we were all tased, the whole cast. We all decided that we thought it would be sort of a semi-bonding experience.
"When we had a choice between pepper spray and being tased (sic), we were all told by the professionals that tasing was probably the preference because pepper spray lasts for a long time after. And a tase is done in moments. So we decided to go for quick and painful."
