JAKE GYLLENHAAL LOVES ACTION HERO STATUS

Jake Gyllenhaal is hoping his new Prince Of Persia blockbuster will allow him to be taken "a little less seriously" in Hollywood.

The Brokeback Mountain star is known for his dramatic roles but insists it will be an "honour" to be recognised as an action hero when Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is released - and he's already dreaming of shooting a sequel to the fantasy film.

He says, "I think about kids saying 'you're the Prince of Persia!' That I wouldn't mind being locked into.

"I wanted to fulfil the dreams of those movies I loved watching, like Robin Hood with Errol Flynn. Who knows in two or three years time what other weird thing I'll do?"

The movie, based on a popular video game, hits cinemas around the world later this month (May10).
