Michael Jackson's estate has been hit with a $3.3 million claim from a Los Angeles man who objects to the amount city officials paid out to cover the King of Pop's memorial in July (09). Jose Freddie Vallejos is fuming about the cost of the send off at the Staples Center and furious that tax payers' cash was used to help fund the $1.4 million event. Vallejos is convinced the amount can be more than doubled when police expenses and other resources are included. In legal papers, he alleges the expenses were "an illegal gift of public funds in violation of the Constitution of the State of Cali fornia" and that Michael Jackson's estate "directly benefited from the expenditure." Vallejos is asking for the $3.3 million to be repaid to Los Angeles' public treasury.
