Iggy Azalea taking Instagram break over paparazzi snaps
Iggy Azalea has quit using Instagram.com after taking issue with fans posting paparazzi shots taken of the rapper in the privacy of her own home.
The Black Widow hitmaker took herself off Twitter.com last month (Feb15) following a series of online disputes, and now she has turned her back on Instagram too after discovering snappers had managed to sneak pictures of her on private property in Los Angeles.
Many Azalea fans reposted the images on social media, prompting the
hip-hop star to hit out at the paparazzi for making her feel like a
prisoner and express her dismay at devotees for spreading the
pictures online.
The rapper shared the shots in question on her own profile on
Thursday (05Mar15) and explained her disappointment in the
accompanying caption, which read: "This is me standing in front of
my home, which has a 6ft high blacked out fence around it.
"No one should be made to feel like their own home is a prison
because even your garden may be grounds for a photoshoot. I really
just want to urge my fans to be aware of what you are enabling when
posting these pictures.
"It is illegal to post images of someone in their home or property
with a long range camera. I'm asking in the nicest way possible to
please think twice about that. You're (sic) home is supposed to be
your place of peace. I just want mine to be that too same as
everyone else (sic)."
The issue was enough to prompt Azalea to hand over control of her
photo-sharing page to her representatives.
A post uploaded on Friday (06Mar15) states: "Until further notice
Iggy's Instagram will be run by management. Iggy is taking a break
from social media. She loves all her Azaleans (fans)!!"
