Idris Elba caught up in film set fire drama

Filming on Idris Elba's TV drama Luther came to a dramatic halt in Gravesend, England on Friday (27Mar15) when a planned explosion went awry and set fire to a crane.

The Thor star was on the set when firefighters raced to the location to stop the blaze from spreading to office blocks nearby.

A WENN photographer, who captured the drama, says, "The explosion was planned but the aftermath clearly wasn't. The cherry picker (crane) was supposed to drop a prop but for some reason it didn't release and caught fire.

"Idris was calm and collected as the firefighters did their job, chatting with cast and crew as he waited to get back to work."
