Jennifer Hudson had made history as the first woman to sing the anthem for the final game of a top basketball tournament.

The Spotlight singer has recorded One Shining Moment, the theme of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men's Basketball National Championship, and will perform the track at this year's (10) final on 5 April.

Hudson is the first female to perform the song in the tournament's 24 year history - and she's thrilled to have been chosen.

She says, "This is the biggest honor to be the first woman to record One Shining Moment. I am so excited to be singing such a great song behind the likes of Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass.

"The song inspires you. It moves you. It motivates you and helps you reach that goal and that dream."
