Hilary Swank sues over ads
Hilary Swank is taking legal action against an electronics company after bosses allegedly used her photos in unauthorised advertisements.
The Million Dollar Baby star has filed suit against Robert's Home Audio and Video, alleging her name and image were used in promotional materials for the Los Angeles-based firm.
Hilary Swank's complaint, filed in L.A. on 10 May (12), reads,
"Defendants did not ask for or receive Ms. Swank's permission to
use her photograph, identity or persona in the advertisements or
otherwise to associate with Defendants' companies or to market
Defendants' commercial products or services."
The actress is demanding unspecified damages, according to The
Hollywood Reporter.
Her suit follows a similar complaint filed last month (Apr12) by
George Clooney and Julia Roberts, who accused the owners of an
audiovisual firm of using their names and likeness to promote their
products.
