Hilary Duff thanks Sophie Monk for car crash rescue
Actress/singer Hilary Duff has thanked Australian star Sophie Monk for coming to her rescue following a car crash in Los Angeles.
The former Lizzie McGuire star has revealed her actress pal witnessed the smash and helped prevent the other driver from leaving the scene of the accident.
Duff tells Australian radio station 2DayFM, "I had a car accident
and Sophie comes out of nowhere, on a rainy day in L.A., like an
angel. This girl hit me, she rear-ended me, and tried to run. And
Sophie took her (own) car and blocked her off. I'm like 'Sophie?'
and she's like, 'Oh my God, Hilary!'"
The pair know each other through their ex-boyfriends, Joel and
Benji Madden. Duff previously dated Joel, while Monk was involved
with Benji.
She adds of the car accident coincidence, "We were dating twins.
Does that mean we're part of some weird sisterhood or
something?"
Duff goes on to reveal she does not have a good track record with
cars, and often prangs her vehicle when parking at home: "I've had
a few (accidents), mostly with my own house though. So that's a
good thing, it's always best when there is only one person
involved. I've hit my garage a few times. Sometimes I've pulled in
too tight. I've always had a big car so I've pulled in and
scratched it, things like that."
