Helicopter ride made Britney Spears sick

Britney Spears had to cancel a string of promotional appearances on Tuesday (17Sep13) after falling ill during an early morning helicopter ride over Las Vegas.

The pop superstar announced her upcoming residency at Planet Hollywood in Sin City by buzzing over Nevada as fans flipped boards to reveal massive images of the singer in the desert just outside the gambling mecca.

Spears admits it was a thrilling way to promote her upcoming shows, but the helicopter ride left her feeling queasy and she was forced to cancel a series of TV appearances later in the day, including a chat with Extra's Mario Lopez.

She has since rescheduled the interview and tells Lopez, "We’re up there for 50 minutes, we couldn’t circle anymore because we had to stay in one place... we’re hovering and the helicopter would drop and kept dropping and I was like, 'Oh my God, I’m going to throw up all over everybody'.

"I was so embarrassed, but we landed and I got off and was able to pull it together."
