Hayley Williams is relieved she managed to keep her three-year relationship with Paramore bandmate Josh Farro a secret - because her fans would have struggled to cope with their break-up. The frontwoman and the guitarist split in late 2007 and only revealed they had been an item once the romance was over. Williams feels bad about not being truthful with her legions of fans, but insists their split would have seemed a lot more traumatic if it had been in the public eye. She says, "Really it was about us being in control of one aspect of our crazy lives. Being really young we were totally dum b and didn't know what we were doing and we were, like, 'Let's just not tell anyone, let's keep it a secret'. "I mean six months into it, it was nothing, but after a year and a half it was a big story that people were waiting to hear and we kept lying about it because it had gone on for so long. It was, like, 'Well, we can't come out now with it because we'd already been telling people that it wasn't the truth'. But I think once we broke up and things weren't so dramatic it was, like, 'Wow, it really wouldn't have been a big deal at all to just tell people, yeah, we're dating'. The question is whether, if people had known, our break-up would have been a big deal to other people. And I'm really thankful that no-one knew for that reason."
