Harry Styles misses out on number one in U.S.

Harry Styles has missed out on making history at the top of the U.S. pop charts by failing to grab number one from pal Ed Sheeran.

The One Direction star ended Sheeran's run at the top of the charts in the U.K. over the weekend, but he didn't quite make it to number one in America, debuting his solo single Sign of the Times at four.

Sheeran's Shape of You scores a 12th week at number one, becoming one of only 18 chart-toppers to lead the countdown for at least 12 weeks.

Bruno Mars' That's What I Like jumps back up a spot to two, changing places with Coachella festival headliner Kendrick Lamar's Humble.

Styles and The Chainsmokers and Coldplay's Something Just Like This round out the new Billboard Hot 100 top five.
