Harry Styles laughs off Han Solo audition rumors

Harry Styles laughed off rumors he had auditioned for the role of Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off.

The singer appeared on Britain's The Graham Norton Show on Friday (21Apr17) to perform his new solo single Sign of the Times, and he was asked to respond to rumors about himself by only using his facial expressions.

Harry, 23, was quizzed by host Graham on some of the wild reports about his life, including if he had a sexual relationship with former President of the United States Barack Obama. "I'm legally not allowed to say anything," Harry joked while trying to keep a straight face.

However, it was when he was asked if he had auditioned for the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie that his expression may have given away more than he wanted to.

Struggling to contain a smile, as if confirming he had gone for the role of the famous Star Wars smuggler, the Dunkirk star laughed as his fellow guest, Welsh comedian Rob Brydon, said Harry's answer was yes.

"I think that's a yes," said Rob, as Harry struggled to keep his cool. "Get out of it! Get out of it!" Harry jokingly shouted at the Gavin and Stacey actor.

Stoker star Alden Ehrenreich eventually landed the role of Han Solo, and will take charge of the smuggler's iconic Millennium Falcon ship alongside a star-studded cast including Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke and Donald Glover.

The as-yet-untitled Star Wars spin-off is set for release in 2018.

Other rumors Harry set the record straight on included a story that he had taken a carrot cake to Fleetwood Mac concert, as well as the singer denying he and One Direction bandmate Liam Payne caught chlamydia after holding a koala bear in Australia. Shaking his head, he said: "I'd like to confirm that's not true, by the way."

Denying he originally wanted to become a real estate agent, he vehemently denied the rumor he used sheep placenta to keep his skin looking young. "No, that's not true," he said, as an audience member audibly gasped.
