Gwyneth Paltrow taking The Go-Go's story to the stage
Gwyneth Paltrow is in talks to produce her first musical by bringing the story of 1980s girl group The Go-Go's to the stage.
The actress is eager to add another string to her bow by creating a theatrical extravaganza inspired by the band, which included Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock and Paula Jean Brown.
Gwyneth Paltrow is negotiating a deal to co-produce the show with
Donovan Leitch and Rick Ferrari, according to The Hollywood
Reporter.
It is thought Gwyneth Paltrow will take inspiration from successful
band-based musicals such as Mamma Mia!, Jersey Boys and American
Idiot and use The Go-Go's music throughout the production.
The Go-Go's were the first all-girl group who played their own
instruments to have a string of hits in the charts.
