Gwyneth Paltrow and friends selling off unwanted clothes for charity

Gwyneth Paltrow is hoping to raise a small fortune for one of her favorite causes by selling off her old clothes online.

The newly-single actress has announced plans for her annual Super-Classy Yard Sale on her lifestyle website Goop.com, and this year (14), many of her famous friends are helping her make the event a big hit.

The high-end sale of cast-off designer items will feature unwanted clothes donated by Kate Hudson, Miranda Kerr and Beyonce.

Announcing the 2014 yard sale, Paltrow writes, "Last year, we did a big story on closet organization, and in the process, sold a handful of pieces on behalf of three charities. It was such a success that we decided to do it again, and enlisted some friends-of-Goop, who have particularly outstanding personal style, to help this year."

She adds, "100 percent of the profits benefit DonorsChoose, a charity where public school teachers can ask directly for help fulfilling specific classroom needs."

The big sale is proving to be a huge success - Goop.com crashed on Thursday morning (01May14) as fans tried to get their hands on the stars' gear.
