Gwen Stefani's dad has been granted a restraining order to stop an obsessed fan coming near him or his famous daughter's family.

The No Doubt hitmaker called police over fears she was being followed by a stalker last week (ends22Mar15) and her father Dennis subsequently applied for an order to protect the singer's family from an obsessed fan, named as Richard Portnoy.

According to documents obtained by TMZ.com, Portnoy has turned up at Stefani's home on three occasions between February and March (15). Portnoy has also paid a visit to her parents' home and in the paperwork, Dennis admits he is scared the fan will show up again.

The restraining order was granted protecting Stefani, her parents, her husband Gavin Rossdale and their three sons. Portnoy is banned from contacting them and from coming within 100 yards (91 meters) of the family.
