GEMMA ARTERTON SWAPS HOLLYWOOD FOR LONDON STAGE

Former Bond girl Gemma Arterton is returning to her theater roots with a role on the West End stage.

The British actress, best known for her role in 007 movie Quantum of Solace, began her career with an appearance in Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost in London in 2007, just months before she won her first big screen role in St Trinian's.

And now the 23 year old is set to return to the theater in The Little Dog Laughed, a satire about Hollywood, alongside The Young Victoria star Rupert Friend.

Arterton says, "There were many reasons for doing this play, but one of them was, 'Oh I've just do ne these Hollywood movies - and now I can do a play about some aspects of Hollywood and some of the things I've seen.' I've had a taste of it (fame) and I don't want it. I would rather do a play in England, thank you very much."

The Little Dog Laughed will begin previews on 8 January (10).
