Gal Gadot made history as she hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend - the sketch show was broadcast in her native Israel for the first time.

The Wonder Woman star made the most of her debut by addressing folks back home - in her native tongue.

The actress poked fun at the show's writers, stating they knew nothing about Israel and her appearance might be "a big mistake", adding, "In every sketch they have me eating hummus. I mean, I like hummus, but come on."

She also quipped, "I think they believe that I'm the actual Wonder Woman."

SNL regular Leslie Jones then joined Gal for the monologue, dressed as "the Times Square Wonder Woman".

The two women traded off on their super powers with Gadot stating, "I have a lasso that makes people tell the truth," prompting Jones to respond, "B**ch, I got vodka."

On the show, Gal poked fun at Kendall Jenner, mimicking the reality TV star and model in a make believe Keeping Up With the Kardashians spin-off, called Kendall's World, in which lost Jenner attempted to find the bathroom in her mansion. She also portrayed O.J. Simpson's first post-prison dinner date, who had no idea who he was, and she locked lips with another SNL regular, Kate McKinnon, in character as Amazonian princess role, Wonder Woman, attempting to discover if she is a lesbian.
