fun. plan to enjoy the booze at the BRIT Awards
Fun. are planning to make the most of the free drinks at the upcoming BRIT Awards after sitting through the "dry" Grammys.
The band was crowned Best New Artist and landed the Song of the Year prize for We Are Young at the Grammy Awards earlier the month (Feb13) and they hope to add to their trophy haul as they are nominated in the International Group category at the BRITS in London.
Organisers of the Grammy Awards famously ban alcohol during the
show, and frontman Nate Ruess insists drinking at the BRIT Awards
will make the event much more fun.
He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "I don't know anyone who
likes to drink as much as I do. And this will be great, especially
after the Grammys were 'dry'. I'm going to kick back. This is one
of the few awards ceremonies where we don't have to perform, so I'm
just going to get stuck in. It's basically like getting a free
ticket to something.
"If you win, you just have to get up on stage and think of
something clever and funny to say. If you lose, you get a load of
free drinks and get to watch a free concert."
The BRIT Awards will be handed out at London's O2 Arena on
Wednesday.
