Frankie Muniz has opened up about the "mini stroke" he suffered last week (30Nov12), revealing he knew something was wrong when he went blind in one eye and lost his ability to speak.

The former Malcolm in the Middle star was admitted to an Arizona hospital with health problems on Friday (30Nov12) and he alerted fans in a post on Twitter.com, writing, "I suffered a 'mini stroke', which was not fun at all."

Muniz, who turned 27 on Wednesday (05Dec12), has now broken his silence on the scary ordeal, telling ABC News he was riding his motorcycle down a street in Phoenix when he suddenly went numb and lost his vision.

He says, "Something wasn't right. I knew I did not feel right. I couldn't say words and I thought I was saying them and my fiancee (Elycia Marie) was looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language."

Although he still feels a little lethargic, Muniz is recovering well and planning to reduce his stress levels in the hope of preventing another incident.

The actor, who drums in a rock band called Kingsfoil, adds, "I'm still trying to make sense of it... I've literally, to this day, never had a sip of alcohol in my life, I've never had any drugs, I've never even had a cigarette... But I'm happy that I'm alive."
