Frank Ocean wins album of the year honour
Frank Ocean's debut record Channel Orange has been hailed the album of the year by British music critics.
The recording has topped a poll of industry experts put together by bosses of U.K. entertainment store HMV, just days after drawing a massive six Grammy Award nominations.
Channel Orange, which reached number two in the U.K. charts, has
been named Album of the Year in HMV's Poll Of Polls, seeing off
competition from Jack White's debut solo album Blunderbuss at
two.
Lonerism by Australian group Tame Impala is at three, ahead of
Visions by Canadian singer Grimes at four and Shields by rockers
Grizzly Bear at five.
Other entries in the top 10 include Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid,
M.A.A.D City, The Maccabees' Give To The Wild, and An Awesome Wave
by Alt-J.
