Foals delivered to BRIT Awards by pizza driver

British rockers Foals were saved by a pizza delivery man who helped transport them to Wednesday's (24Feb16) Brit Awards when they got caught in traffic.

The group's drummer Jack Bevan revealed he and his bandmates were left stranded in a gridlock on the other side of London's River Thames from the venue holding the event, the O2 Arena.

However, Jack said the Best British Band nominees' evening was saved when a passing takeaway driver picked them up and speedily delivered them to the British music prizegiving.

"On the way to the Brits the other day our cab took us the wrong way and we were stranded North of the river in gridlock traffic", the drummer wrote on Twitter.com.

"Unexpectedly, a total hero picked us up and drove us all the way to the ceremony... I didn't remember his name as I ran off but he owns TGF pizza in Eltham, SE9. So yeah, if his pizzas are as good as his getaway driving, I would definitely recommend."

Although they did make it to the ceremony on time, the My Number musicians' evening was not topped off by the British Band prize, as they lost out to Coldplay.
