Evangeline Lilly launches debut kids' novel at Comic-Con
Evangeline Lilly has put her motherhood experience to good use by penning a children's book.
The Lost actress gave birth to her first child with her production assistant boyfriend Norman Kali in 2011, and she is now showing off her storytelling skills with the release of her debut tome The Squickerwonkers.
The storybook is illustrated by Johnny Fraser-Allen, who works at
the Weta Workshop - the design company behind the special effects
on The Lord of the Rings films.
Debuting her work on the first day of the Comic-Con event in
California on Thursday (18Jul13), she said, "When Johnny and I sat
down to create this book together we wanted to make a book that we
would like to have read as children and that we would still enjoy
as adults today, and that is exactly what we did."
After a huge response from fans at the convention, she tweeted:
"Just finished my first official signing! Thank you all so much for
your support! The line was CRAZY!"
Lilly met Fraser-Allen after landing a role on The Lord of the
Rings prequel, The Desolation of Smaug.
