Superstar DJ Erick Morillo has returned to work after spending four weeks in rehab.
The hitmaker checked into the Passages clinic in Malibu, California in June (13) to deal with substance abuse issues, and was released in mid-July (13).
Morillo, who is now back behind the decks for a summer (13) residency in Ibiza, Spain, has opened up about his issues in a post on his Facebook.com page, thanking his friends, family and fans for standing by him.
He writes, "What an incredible personal journey the last four weeks have been... I've been in a spiritual rehab facility called Passages... Life is a gift and it's one that in recent years I've taken for granted... My friends and fans alike have sent me love and well wishes and I was really touched by it all and I want to thank you as it meant a lot in a time when I was in a very dark place. "
Morillo also insists he is happy to return to work, but he is cutting down his gig schedule so he can focus on his sobriety, while he also apologizes for letting his addiction affect his work at the height of his troubles.
He adds, "As far as my gigs, it's not business as usual, I am only going to do 4 or 5 gigs a month... In recent months I have let down fans and promoters by not showing up to a handful of gigs and I can promise you all now, that that will never happen again...
"I will send you guys periodic updates on my sobriety as it's not going to be easy, but by sharing it I can stay strong and deal with the challenges ahead."
