Emmy Rossum has opened up about how she makes her marriage to Sam Esmail work despite their busy schedules.

The Shameless star and Mr. Robot showrunner tied the knot in late May (17) at the Central Synagogue in New York and the couple celebrated the nuptials with family and friends at the Guggenheim Museum, where guests included Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater, Robert Downey, Jr., co-star William H. Macy, and Hilary Swank.

The couple honeymooned in Rwanda, Africa, before returning to work on their respective shows. But with their hectic schedules, she revealed how much they rely on technology to avoid a relationship "disconnect."

"We are equally committed to our art and we always have been and to each other," she explained in an interview with Extra. "We text multiple times a day, all day long, send little videos back and forth on set and share as much of our lives as we can, so we don't feel that disconnect.

"We love each other and were lucky enough to find each other and get married," she gushed.

Emmy fell for Sam while he was directing her in movie Comet. The pair dated for two years before he popped the question in 2015. Since then The Phantom of the Opera star hasn't worked with her husband on a project, but she hinted there might be the possibility of a guest spot on his critically acclaimed TV show.

"He's a force of nature. I would work for him in any capacity. Hopefully that will happen in the future," encouraged the 30-year-old, who has recently added director to her resume.

Emmy also praised her Shameless co-star William in the chat, for voicing his support as she fought for pay equality on the show.

"He is all for equality... It was wonderful to have that support. Not all women have that support and not all women are supportive of it, either," she added.
