Eminem to reunite with D12 for their first album in 10 years
Eminem is reportedly working on new music with D12 for the group's first album in 10 years.
The Berzerk hitmaker has hit the studio with the Detroit-based musicians for a few tracks on an upcoming album, according to producer Mark Bass.
Bass, who previously produced Eminem's hits Without Me and Lose
Yourself, tells the Detroit Free Press newspaper that he has been
mixing new material by "the mercurial funk-pop giant Sly Stone with
members of the original Family Stone band, along with new D12
tracks, including three with Eminem".
D12's last record, D12 World, was released in 2004, but the
collective has been largely inactive since the death of bandmate
Proof in 2006.
D12 formed in 1996 and achieved mainstream success after Eminem
rose to hip-hop heights in the late 1990s.
They enjoyed success with two hit albums and hits like Fight Music,
Purple Pills and My Band.
It's not clear if rapper Bizarre, who left the group in 2012, will
be part of the line-up for the reported new album.
