Emily Blunt: 'Second child is a dream baby'

New mom Emily Blunt is enjoying motherhood the second time round, insisting baby Violet is much calmer than her older sister.

The British actress became a mom again this summer (16) and tells news show Extra her daughter is "doing really well".

And the home she shares with husband John Krasinski and their two-year-old Hazel is a lot more chilled than it was when she first became a mother.

"I wonder if it’s the second kid," she says. "You're so relaxed, and then they're relaxed - your energy is not like, 'Oh my God, am I gonna kill this child by something that I'm doing?'"

And big sister Hazel is a big help: "She's doing brilliantly," Emily gushes. "She's very kind to her."

Meanwhile, the gorgeous star is already back at her red carpet best just months after giving birth - and she credits good genes for the transformation.

"I do come from a family of very thin people, to the point where my mom got cornered when we were kids and they were like, 'Do you feed your kids, Mrs. Blunt?'" she shares.

Emily and John recently moved from Los Angeles to New York and she admits she's enjoying her new surroundings - and the couple's celebrity friends.

The couple recently enjoyed a date night with Matt Damon and his wife Luciana as well as Chelsea Clinton and her husband Marc Mezvinsky, and on Monday (26Sep16), the Krasinskis were spotted visiting Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's Big Apple pad after having dinner together.

Emily will have to kiss New York, her family and friends goodbye later this week as she embarks on a promotional tour for new movie thriller The Girl on the Train, in which she plays an unstable divorcee.
