Emile Hirsch checks into rehab
Actor Emile Hirsch has checked into a rehab clinic to battle alcohol addiction after he allegedly attacked a woman while drunk last month (Jan15).
On Thursday (12Feb15), the Into the Wild star was charged with third degree felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor intoxication for allegedly assaulting Paramount Pictures executive Daniele Bernfeld at a Sundance Film Festival party in Utah in January (15).
The 29-year-old actor was heavily intoxicated during the incident
and is now addressing his alcohol issues in rehab after checking
himself into a clinic in the days after the bust-up.
Hirsch's spokesman Robert Offer tells TMZ.com, "Emile consumed an
enormous amount of alcohol on the evening in question and he has no
memory of what happened.
"Emile takes these allegations very seriously, and is devastated
that any of this has occurred. A few days after the incident, Emile
sought help and checked himself into an alcohol rehabilitation
facility, where he remains today, to ensure nothing like this ever
happens again."
Hirsch is due back in court on 16 March (15).
