Elisabeth Moss overcame shyness for raunchy TV scenes

Elisabeth Moss threw caution to the wind while filming raunchy scenes for new TV mini-series Top Of The Lake as she was too exhausted to cover up her naked body.

The Mad Men star had intended to keep her private parts hidden while playing detective Robin Griffin in the series but admits she couldn't be bothered to shield herself as she was so tired out by the long shoot.

She says, "There are a few nipple slips. I'm a shy person but the director, Jane Campion, is the last person to make me feel uncomfortable or exploit me.

"She's the ultimate feminist. You go through all this negotiation about what you'll show, and then you get there, three months in and tired, and you're just, 'Whatever, let's just do it.'"

Moss filmed for 65 days of the 82-day shoot, and admits it was her most gruelling role to date.

She adds, "I worked out and got some muscle, lowered my voice, learnt an accent and trained with guns. Robin is very much an a**-kicker. The shoot was an acting Olympics. I run all the time and I don't like to run. I shoot guns, throw darts, chop wood and fish."
