Ed Sheeran replacing Justin Bieber at Fusion Festival

Singer Ed Sheeran has stepped in to replace Justin Bieber as the headlining act for the Fusion Festival in Birmingham, England later this month (Aug15).

The Baby hitmaker was scheduled to hit the stage alongside co-headliner Tinie Tempah, dance act Rudimental and pop rockers McBusted on 28 August (15), but he pulled out due to "unforeseen issues".

Sheeran has now agreed to take to the stage and festival organiser Mike Owen is thrilled he is performing.

He says, "I've been in this business a long time and it nearly brought me to tears. It was just a moment of sheer excitement. The most-streamed artist in the world last year, and he's going to come and do Fusion in Birmingham."

He continues, "There was a lot of concerns (when Bieber dropped out), a lot of phone calls but Ed Sheeran himself kind of came forward out of a little group of conversations with people and said, 'I'll do it'. It was absolutely breathtaking for us. It was just astonishing. What a wonderful man."

The three-day event raises funds for Charles, Prince of Wales' charity, the Prince's Trust, which aids young people in need.
