Ed Sheeran donates designer clothes to charity shops in England

Written by . Published: March 25 2014

Singer Ed Sheeran has sparked a frenzy among his fans after announcing he donates his designer clothes to several charity shops in Suffolk, England.

The Give Me Love hitmaker did not reveal what stores benefited from the items, prompting fans to launch scavenger hunts to find the clothes.

In a message on Twitter.com, he writes, "Given my whole wardrobe to a bunch of charity shops. All stuff worn on shoots, videos and live, if you live around suffolk it might be near you".

Sheeran is an ambassador for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), but representatives for the organization insist they are not the beneficiaries of the donation.

A spokesperson says, "We're not aware of any of Ed's wardrobe items being donated to our network of shops, but fans have visited our Ipswich shop this morning enquiring about it. Given Ed's generosity, we're not surprised he's chosen to donate his items to charity shops.

"In not divulging which shops he's donated to, Ed's actions could prove to be a boost for all charity shops across Suffolk as fans go out in search of Ed's gear and visit shops they wouldn't normally venture in to."

St Elizabeth Hospice, Ipswich spokesman Jason Rudderham adds, "We haven't had any items donated to our shops by Ed Sheeran sadly, but we have had a few of his fans visit our shop in Market Hill, Framlingham, looking for the items he tweeted about."
