Ed Sheeran and James Corden back mental health campaign

Stars including Ed Sheeran and James Corden have marked World Mental Health Day on Monday (10Oct16) by backing a campaign to help young people.

The #IAMWHOLE campaign, launched by Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens, which asks people to post pictures on social media in which they draw a circle on the palm of their hand, aims to encourage young people to talk about their mental health.

Ed, James, British singer James Arthur and Game of Thrones star Faye Marsay are among a number of stars who appear in the video for the song sporting the circles.

Jordan, who has teamed up with the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) charity and health officials in his hometown of Brighton, to launch the campaign, has also penned a song, Whole, documenting his own struggles.

"I wrote Whole to express how I was feeling at the bottom of a situation," Jordan tells the BBC. "When the NHS suggested it could be used to give other people a way of feeling less alone, man that felt really good."

As well as drawing on his own experience with mental health difficulties, the 24-year-old musician has had a close-up view of those coping with similar problems, as his mother is trained as a therapist.

Last month (Sep16) Rizzle Kicks were forced to cancel their upcoming performances due to Jordan's bandmate Harley Alexander-Sule's issues with anxiety.

In a statement announcing the cancellation of the group's tour, he revealed he would be documenting Harley's treatment for anxiety in a bid to raise awareness about the mental condition.
