Twilight hunks Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have both earned nods for Best Male Performance, pitting them against Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1) and Zac Efron (Charlie St. Cloud), while co-star Kristen Stewart will compete against the likes of Emma Watson (Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1) and Oscar winner Natalie Portman (Black Swan) in the Best Female Performance category.

The stars of the romantic vampire drama are also up for Best Fight and Best Kiss awards.

Teenage pop sensation Justin Bieber earns his first MTV Movie Award nomination - his appearance in concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never is up for Best Jaw-Dropping Moment, alongside James Franco (127 Hours) and Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page (Inception).

The winners will be unveiled in a Los Angeles ceremony on 5 June (11).

The show will be presented by comedian Jason Sudeikis.
