Earl Sweatshirt alleges new song was leaked without approval

Fans of rapper Earl Sweatshirt were left confused on Tuesday (12Jan16) when a new song disappeared from streaming services shortly after its release.

A previously unheard track called Mirror was posted on Soundcloud.com on Tuesday, but not long after the news began spreading online, the tune was pulled from the music website.

Fans began complaining about the removal on social media, prompting the former Odd Future star to distance himself from the situation on Twitter, claiming it had been posted without his permission - even though he had tweeted about it earlier.

"I DIDNT (sic) RELEASE THAT TRACK SO IF ITS (sic) NOT ONLINE ANYMORE FIND THE N**GA THAT LEAKED IT AND NEGOTIATE WITH HIM", he wrote on Tuesday afternoon.

Earl did not expand on his comments, which were posted an hour after he had shared the Soundcloud link for Mirror from the @RapFavorites Twitter account.

He had captioned the link, "BIG MAN ON CAMPUS", and revealed it had been produced by his pal Samiyam.

Mirror had previously been cut from the tracklist for his 2015 album I Don't Like S**t, I Don't Go Outside at late notice due to a sample clearance issue.

"It's just way more progressive and it's not produced by me," Earl told Pitchfork.com. "It's just one verse and a hook and I was just snapping on that s**t."
